About

My journey to Radiantly Natural B.S.N. began when I was sixteen years old. That year for my birthday my mom gave me a sitting with a make-up artist that also taught me the importance of a good skincare routine. From this point on my goal has been to move gracefully through the aging process. I swore, I would not go quietly into the night!  Walking through the mall I felt overwhelmed by all the brands. I settled on Clinique then moved to Dermalogica, Kinerase, Rhonda Allison and lastly Rodan + Fields.  All of these brands have had a positive impact on me. Looking back, I thought I was being diligent. I looked at the most popular brands thinking if they were being sold in department store’s they must be safe.  As I grew in my knowledge and age, I started to realize that this was really not the case.

Once I graduated from nursing school, I started to better understand the connection between what we put on our skin (it is our bodied largest organ system) and in our bodies. Over the last twenty-three years I have been witnessing how some of these chemicals affect our bodies. We are seeing more Endocrine disorders, dermatologic disorders and an increase in maternal/fetal health concerns just to name a few.

When I was given the gift of motherhood, my perception began to change again. As I looked for the healthiest ways to keep my child safe from toxic chemicals and growth hormones my knowledge and concerns deepened. If there was an ingredient I didn’t know or better yet couldn’t pronounce I was searching google for the answers.  This precious time together led us to watching educational shows about our planet and changing environment. This was the real turning point for me.

A few years ago, a friend made a comment to me about how I should “just make my own skin care, I mean you're already growing your own food".  I laughed a loud belly laugh saying it was impossible! As I became more disenchanted with the products out there I knew I had to make a choice.

Synthetically engineered and some natural ingredients have been making the news and not for the right reasons. Reports of cancer and endocrine disorders have become more prevalent. Some of these problematic ingredient's include talc powders, phthalates and triclosan. I began to ponder what I was willing to do. In 2020 covid took hold and with the world in chaos I needed something to occupy my mind. So, I started gardening. Growing my plants from seed without chemicals reminded me of how amazing mother nature. Our food tasted better than anything the stores had, driving my passion to grow more things. By the fall of 2020 I noticed mine, my son and my husband's complexion were improving. Our general health was improving, we were'nt catching every viral illness from the petrie dish called life.

Over the last few years my garden has grown in size and abundance. Allowing us to share with our neighbors and friends. I felt alive again, not just like I was going through the motions of everyday.  Burnout was now a thing! I knew there was more for me to do. I have held a passion for helping others throughout my life and nursing career. Now, I just needed to figure out my next step. The more I thought about what was missing in my life, the more I felt God nudging me forward. I was dreaming about skincare, what I thought was missing, what I knew I was missing in my daily routine and why did it seem like I could find products to help me with all the things. I needed to figure out how to realize my dream of natural and organic skincare.  I entered post-menopause during all of this and as many women will attest your body goes through yet more changes. Now I had dry skin, bags under my eyes, dark circles, crepey skin, my hair was/is breaking and my nails are so brittle they wont grow past my finger tips. Ugh! As I kept thinking about all the things I started researching schools and programs on how to formulate skin care and found my way to Formula Botanica and from here Radiantly Natural was born! Now I just needed to figure out everything else.

My commitment to myself, future generations (possibly my grandchildren) and our planet is to be sustainable. I will be diligent in using sustainably farmed natural/organic ingredient's that can be upcycled allowing little to go to waste. I will use packaging that can be recycled such as aluminum and glass. Of which both can be recycled an infinite amount of times. Labels will be made from hemp as it is also biodegradable. The future of Radiantly Natural will include using sustainable energy (wind, sun and water) for production and a garden where we will nurture our botanicals ingredients. This will ensure meticulously curated small batch products that you will LOVE!

I hope you will indulge in our products and share them with friends, loved ones and strangers alike!
